Our Dispute Resolution Practice represented a professional services company in litigation before the Court of First Instance in Hong Kong. The company was headquartered in the U.S. and was backed by private equity. The dispute arose following non-payment of sums due under the contract with the reseller.

Our litigators represented the client on the full range of legal issues including:

  • advising on the merits of a claim against the reseller for a breach of contract and on ADR options, including representing the client in mediation and settlement discussions

  • conducting pre-action matters, including preparing pre-action demand letters and advising on procedure

  • attending to pleadings, including preparing and issuing a writ and statement of claim, reviewing and responding to the reseller’s statement of defence, preparation of interrogatories and requests for further and better particulars

  • attending to discovery, including conducting document discovery with client, preparing lists of documents, reviewing and conducting forensic analysis of reseller's list of documents and conducting interlocutory proceedings relating to discovery
