Senior Associate
Dispute Resolution & Financial Services

We are looking for a senior associate with 5 or more years of post qualification experience in dispute resolution with a particular focus on commercial litigation and arbitration and regulatory enforcement action. The ideal candidate will be an associate with an international law firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in growing the existing dispute resolution and financial services practices, including through authoring and publishing thought leadership articles, speaking at in-house seminars and external conferences and networking with prospective clients

  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for dispute resolution matters, including representing clients in enquiries and investigations initiated by the Securities and Futures Commission, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Insurance Authority, the Independent Commission Against Corruption or the Hong Kong Police, disputes between clients and regulated financial intermediaries, disputes between employees and employers and disputes between market counterparties

  • Work as part of a team, providing guidance and supervision to more junior lawyers and, in this connection, assisting with the preparation of precedents and practice notes


  • High level of fluency in English (a high level of fluency in Chinese language, both spoken and written, is advantageous but not required)

  • High level of proficiency in the rules, practices and procedures governing litigation before the High Court of Hong Kong (trial and appellate) and in arbitral proceedings in Hong Kong

  • In-depth understanding of the rules of evidence in Hong Kong

  • Familiarity with criminal procedure in Hong Kong

  • Experience dealing with regulatory bodies and policing authorities
