Circular to Intermediaries ─ Over-the-counter Derivatives Regulatory Regime – Industry Webinar

On July 13, 2026, the Securities and Futures Commission ("SFC") announced it will host an industry webinar on 14 August 2026 regarding the upcoming over-the-counter derivatives ("OTCD") licensing regime. The webinar will be conducted via Zoom.

Objectives and rundown

The webinar aims to provide an overview of the new and expanded regulated activities under the regime, highlight planned legislative amendments, and summarize transitional arrangements for licensing and the Securities and Futures (Financial Resources) Rules. It will also address other major impacts and outline the next steps.

Who should attend

Intermediaries and their affiliated corporations that are currently engaging or planning to engage in OTCD activities are invited to nominate relevant management, supervisory or compliance staff to attend. The webinar will be conducted in English and free of charge. One Continuous Professional Training ("CPT") hour will be offered to those who attend the whole session.

Enrolment

Each firm should submit only one enrolment form for all participating staff via the following link on or before 27 July 2026. Places will initially be allocated to the first nominee on each enrolment form submitted to the SFC on a first-come, first-served basis. Any remaining places will then be allocated to the second nominee, then the third nominee, and so on, on the same basis.
