LegCo to consider Inland Revenue (Amendment) (Tax Concessions, Concessionary Deductions and Allowances) Bill 2026

On 11 May 2026, the Information Services Department issued a statement regarding the Legislative Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday (May 13) at 11am in the Chamber of the LegCo Complex. During the meeting, the Second Reading debate on the Inland Revenue (Amendment) (Tax Concessions, Concessionary Deductions and Allowances) Bill 2026 will resume. If the Bill is supported by Members and receives its Second Reading, it will stand committed to the committee of the whole Council. After the committee of the whole Council has completed consideration of the Bill and its report is adopted by the Council, the Bill will be set down for the Third Reading.

Legislative Motions and Resolutions

On Government motion, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury will move a proposed resolution under the Loans Ordinance. On Members motions, Mr Andrew Yao will move a motion on Comprehensively enhancing the competitiveness of Hong Kong as an international shipping centre. Ms Julia Lau will move an amendment to Mr Yao motion. Mr Hung Kam-in will move a motion on Promoting the development of Hong Kong silver economy to align with national strategies. Ms Julia Lau will move an amendment to Mr Hung motion.

Parliamentary Inquiries

Members will also ask the Government 22 questions on various policy areas, six of which require oral replies.
